Gordon Bailey
By the age of 36, Chef Gordon Bailey had a long history working in multiplr restaurants.When he was 14 he worked as a dishwasher in a local restaurant in his hometown, Manitoba. He climbed the ranks and began working in some of the great restaurants and private clubs in Winnipeg.
He represented his Province, region and country at Culinary Competitions around the world where he loved being challenged by cooks like him. He traveled Europe; Germany, France, and Italy learning about new types of food and culinary skills
Gordon then came back to Canada where his passion for seafood brought him over to PEI. He has been living on the island for over 10 years now. Gordon Bailey was executive chef at the Inn at Spry Point and The Inn at St. Peter’s before opening his own restaurant in 2005. Dayboat, a one hundred seat restaurant in Oyster Bed Bridge. Dayboat was named one of the top top 10 new restaurants in Canada by EnRoute magazine. It received great feedback and acclamations from all over Canada and the US within its first year.
Gordons next project was renovationg the Urban Eatery in the confed. mall. This was a huge success. And last but not least, Gordon bailey opened his own restaurant in June 2008 called Lot 30. Many from all over Canada have agreed that this was their favorite restaurant.
